Ode to useless acts, who are so beautiful and necessary.
But if they're necessary, does that mean they have a use?
Yes, I guess they do.
What is a useless act?
Eating ice cream does not seem to have much of a use.
Eating it makes crying children smile.
I would say that is somewhat useful.
How useful is putting on lipstick?
Some lipstick costs $20 a stick.
It doesn't necessarily make anyone prettier.
It gives a small amount of variety to an otherwise consistent face.
Useful things:
Telling someone the time
exercising
reading the news
buying trash bags

Useless things that it turns out are more useful than useful things:
everything you feel guilty about doing because you don't have the time.
