But if they're necessary, does that mean they have a use?
Yes, I guess they do.
What is a useless act?
Eating ice cream does not seem to have much of a use.
Eating it makes crying children smile.
I would say that is somewhat useful.
How useful is putting on lipstick?
Some lipstick costs $20 a stick.
It doesn't necessarily make anyone prettier.
It gives a small amount of variety to an otherwise consistent face.
Useful things:
Telling someone the time
exercising
reading the news
buying trash bags

Useless things that it turns out are more useful than useful things:
everything you feel guilty about doing because you don't have the time.

We need food.

Wow, food is important. I love eating, as anyone who knows me at all will tell you. Ask Elib how much I like food and you'll hear the dirty truth that I'm pretty much a fatty to the nth degree.
I just had some food. And it woke me up and I realized how much I need it to remain positive. The food everyone eats is different. Everyone's needs are different. I need my own kind of food.
